Drill Down Server
The Drill Down Server (DDS) is deCarta's flagship geospatial software platform. The DDS, developed on top of the Rich Map Engine and the Rich Map Format map data, provides the lower level geospatial functionality used by the DDS Web Services and the deCarta JavaScript API.
The Drill Down Server is comprised of several Power Plug ins that work together with the Rich Map Format Maps to enable the development of location enabled applications. The plug-ins are accessed via a simple Drill Down Server query language and distributed to the appropriate plug-by an efficient query distributor.
Core functionality provided by the DDS:
- Routing
- Raster map generation for tiled or static maps
- Vector data for vector map generation
- Address and Point of Interest Lookup
- Reverse geocoding
- Spatial keying for external databases
