What is a Wiki?

A wiki is a website that allows both viewing, real-time editing, and pseudo-real-time updates all through a web browser. Wikis allow anyone who has the correct permissions to go in and edit any page included in the wiki. Editing the page, while not always entirely intuitive, is simple using a mix of what is known as wiki formatting mixed with HTML. The changes you make to the wiki page go live immediately after you save the page. That is, the next time you or anyone else accesses or refreshes the page, the information you contributed will be shown.

For help on using the wiki used for the deCarta Developer Zone, please see Using the Developer Zone Wiki.
